A 2.4GHZ WIFI antenna and a ribbon-cabled micro pinhole camera are attached to the camera board. The camera has a 90° field of view and can switch between full color and low light functionality.
The free-to-use MXCAM application is available for both Apple and Android devices. Once paired with the WIFI, live footage, date and time, motion or continuous recording, mobile alerts, and remote playback of recordings are fully available. You can even record footage directly on your smartphone or tablet.
Over 200 hours of footage can be recorded using a 256GB Micro SD card. You can also download and save the footage to a Mac or Windows computer, which allows you to play back your recorded files on your desktop’s media player.
HOW DOES THE DIY 1080 WIFI CAMERA KIT WORK?
Download the MXCAM application from the Google or Apple Play Store. Once installed, activate the power switch on the device. The device will start emitting a WIFI setup signal. Open the app and press the add camera button to pair the device. Now, choose the WIFI configuration and select the internet signal and password, and the device will reboot and connect.
One of the device’s best features is continuous or motion-activated recording. When the motion activation alarm is set, the device will only save footage when movement is seen. This cuts down on playback time, and you can even enable notifications to alert you when motion is activated.
Recorded files can be downloaded directly from the application to your Apple or Android device. You can also review footage on your Windows or Mac computer using your computer’s default media player.
